Your resolution COULD be to blog more. Or, it could be to beat yourself up less, re: your actual-vs-perceived obligations and inclinations to write. ;)
If you're interested in doing mostly photos without much explanatory text, you might want to check out the tumblr.com blogroll system. I'm kinda intrigued by it. Super easy to set up and maintain, and nice visual appeal. It's not the most extensive blog host out there by a long shot, but it looks like it would be easy and fun. And I don't know about you, but for me "easy" and "fun" are big motivators to keep current with projects!
I would miss you if you left LJ-land though. It's getting a bit lonely around these parts.
