Apocryphal Verses

Jul 08, 2009 16:31

Which is to say, seanan_mcguire has a completely awesome song called "Wicked Girls Saving Ourselves", which is about "heroines of classic children's literature who got screwed."

So why am I trying my hand at writing more verses? )

pagan, creativity

The original, the apocryphal, and your creation are all striking a (dis)chord.

thank you for sharing this

I'm pretty sure she opted out of writing a verse on Eris, actually...

I have never heard this song, but I like it very, very much.

And hey, the video has Vixy and Tony on it...another group I was only recently made aware of!

(though I've had some Escape Key for awhile now...my two-year-old niece loves it when I sing "The Moon is Mine" to her.)

Thanks for letting us post here. I'm not happy with the last line of this, but want to share it anyway.

About Maggy in _Hellspark_ by Janet Kegan.

Maggy was programmed and Maggy was primed-she grew wiser.
She listened, she learned, make choices that saved lives around her.
She feared to look forward, and feared to look back.
Responsibility was a bitter held track.
Sharing the life of another worth all of the pain.
And they succeeded, they loved, grew in the endless rain.

"they succeeded, they loved, and they grew in the endless [cool/warm] rain" perhaps?
