Hey folks!
Anyone know of anyone good at designing tattoos? Not a good good artist, but someone who knows how to design tattoos.
My tattoo artist is in Ohio, now.
I need someone who could design a few for me.
My first one being a "day of the Dead" skull tribute for my brother.
Email me or comment here.

(The former is a friend of mine who's been a studio artist for several years and branched out into tattoos 3 years ago, which means she (a) has mad skillz and (b) may not be as expensive as she's worth yet. The latter is the guy who did my tattoo, back in like '96 "before he was famous.")
Or are you just looking for a designer, and you've already got someone picked out to execute it from the flash?

My last artist was steep, too. If I could find a great artist AND designer in one that would be awesome!
I am looking for a unique Skull, not one already done.
I have the limiting factor of geography. I don't drive or have a car. So, they have to close enough for me to get to them.

That would make it about 2 hours each way from 30th Street Station, but only you can say whether that's too long of a train ride. Meanwhile, good luck finding someone more local.
Damn, now I'm back to thinking about getting that second tat I've been dreaming of lo these eight years...

I'll meet you at the 30th Street Station, and we'll take Amtrak to Baltimore. Then we'll go see Kike Castillo, the artist who did my chestpiece. I need a few tiny touchups where some ink rejected. As you watch him work and look at his portfolio (his business card is a sugar skull, btw), you may just be convinced that he is your artist. I can, um, photograph my chest for you. *blush* I'll dig up his MySpace later on.
Alternatively, I would be happy to meet up and draw something out, then use markers -- no joke; this is a good way to figure out if a design works on skin -- to draw directly on your arm, so you can walk around with the thing for a few days and see whether you really like it that way.
I mentioned I'm an artist as well as a poet, right?
