I just talked with a friend, and I feel tons better about Amanda... =) I just hope Amanda still loves me and everything.

thing is, that paragraph you quoted up above, i've actually experienced things like that completely sober. so obviously you don't *need* drugs in order to be philosophical and stuff. sure, some great art and literature have been created while high, but as i was saying in the original argument, the risks outweigh the benefits imo. especially since you can have great epiphanies about life and the universe on your own.

See, first things first, no one adressed the total ego loss one controls with heavy halucinogens. I doubt one can shatter their ego in a matter of minutes to the point of not knowing any shard of their own identity. This isn't "exploring" oneself, this is creating oneself from the ashes of the old.

Secondly, You are in control with most psychedelics. Aside from Datura (Jimson Weed), DMT, and Salvia, one is totally in control of their trip. In fact, many seasoned mushroom uses can CREATE their own trip by creating hallucinations, playing with object sizes, and morphong objects. Ketamine use is very similar. The only time a person "loses control" is when he/she is overwhelmed by the experience, which typically goes with a poor set or inexperince.
