Melissa and I adopted Sophia on Friday morning.  She is a 5 year old tabby.  She is so wonderful! We were petting her in her room and she exposed her belly for Melissa to rub, which apparently is incredibly rare for her.  We paid the fees and put her in her carrier to take her home, when all of a sudden people started escorting us out and saying " ( Read more... )

there is a one cat limit in our apartment complex. in order to have more, we have to receive special permission. Someday I hope to have a huge house full of pets.

so.cute.

It's really awesome that you adopted an older cat. Next time I adopt a cat it is DEFINITELY going to be an older one...because I feel like not as many people want them? Anyway, she is really pretty and I'm glad you guys are getting along.

=D

I am so in love with her, it's ridiculous. I was originally looking for a cat that we could afford to adopt and noticed that older cats are usually less expensive. In Sophia's case, she was $50 compared to the $125-200 of other cats at the shelter. It's awesome because she uses a litter box, she's declawed, spayed, and is super calm. She goes nuts when she sees shadows and loves to play and stuff (she still likes to get into places she's not supposed to be, like the closet), but she's not attached to us night and day either, like some kittens can be. I definitely recommend adopting older (although I would still like a kitten someday). :)

I hate spelling mistakes so I deleted the previous post.

What I meant to say was...

"Sophia Kirk...what a great name."
