Embracing Myself

Aug 16, 2010 11:17

Hello All,

This is a journey for me to embrace myself, find myself and just learn.  I have been feeling lost for a while and thought why not be lost among others.  I actually watched Julia/Julie yesterday and decided maybe I need an avenue to speak and have others comment.  Just be able to have random thoughts thrown out.  I have a journal that I ( Read more... )

Hi. :D

So you're really new here! You just opened your journal yesterday! Welcome in the endless world of Livejournal. *giggles*

I hope you find what you're looking for. Your communities are a very good start and I'm sure you'll find some nice and helpful people around here.

You are familiar with the secret? How long have you known it? And how did it find you? ^^ I talked with my Reiki master about it and she recommended it strongly. After the secret I started reading a lot of books by Esther and Jerry Hicks and Louise L. Hay and I'm just amazed. I'm learning something new every day and I'm working to become more positive and healthier. I think we're all on a good way and this is the right place to help each other!

I became familiar with the secret about 3 years ago, my sister gave it to me as a birthday gift. Best gift I have ever been given. I will have to look up the authors you have named. I too am trying to become positive and healthier as well.. Much easier said than done. When I began reading the Secret I was not expecting it to impact me as much as it did.... I talked to everyone about it. I gave it as gifts to all my friends. I think I have reread it about 5 or 6 times.

This is my journey and its nice to see I am not alone.

I'm so sorry! I just realized that I forgot to add you to my friends list (if you're still interested?).

Three years ago? Wow. I guess you're familiar with it longer than me, then. I guess I read it one and a half or two years ago and while I did that I felt so great and so highly motivated! It was like "that's what I was looking for". But like you said - it's easier said than done. *nods*

Jerry and Esther Hicks are amazing! I think they're friends with a lot of people and so you find their names in Louise L. Hay's books and the other way around. If you're interested in their books you should begin with "The Law of Attraction". I needed two inruns (I don't know if that's the right word) to finally finish it but after that I really fell in love with them and their books.

I thought about giving "The Secret" to my friends and family as a present, too but they're all sceptic when it comes to my interests and so I didn't. What did your friends say? Did they like it?

I am still interested in being added to your friends list. Thanks for the insight on Jerry and Esther Hicks... going to look them up.

My friends were you could say a mixed bunch. Some enjoyed the reading without fulling grasping the premise of the book while other are skeptics.

Did you know the author of The Secret Ronda Byrne came out with a new book called The Power. I just purchased it and have begun reading... another book that so far will help me in my journey. Very inspiring and I am only on the second chapter.

I am so sorry that it take me so long to reply to your comment. I don't know why but I didn't get an email notification like usual so I totally lost track. I also thought that I already friended you but it seems that I haven't. I guess I'm getting old. *giggles*

I promise that I'll do that as soon as I come today!

I actually saw the book by Ronda Byrne while I was on vacation in las Vegas but I thought "The Secret" might just look different in America than it does in Germany. There was a small writing "The Secret" on top so I didn't pulled it from the shelf. Too bad! I wish I'd done it now. But maybe I wasn't ready to read it back then.

Now you made me even more curious. I just ordered the book at Amazon. ^^ I guess I'll have it tomorrow.

What other books do you read? I only read one book at a time because I can't focus on more than one book.
