Ten year old Sebastian Michaelis could never be more glad that he is an only child.

The tales of screaming and punching siblings often reach his ears whenever he is at school and his friends would chatter mindlessly about how awful their brothers and sisters are. Of course, that does not help when Grell would dramatically spew out tales of nonsense about his dearest older brother William, who would, in turn, lean over and deliver a series of sharp tugs on Grell's hair until a handful of long red strands would be clutched between William's slender fingers.

So when he came home today, Sebastian is more than surprised to see a cradle resting in the living room. He can hear his parents and the Phantomhives talking animatedly in the kitchen and that brings him to only one conclusion.

This is the baby that he has been hearing so much about, Sebastian remembers, recalling how his mother had been cooing over the phone with such an adoring expression on her face.

Intrigued, though rather concerned with stories of vomiting babies that he has heard about from school, Sebastian approaches the cradle with care, dropping his schoolbag onto the ground, as gracefully as one could drop a bag full of books, and leans over the edge of the cradle.

Oh, perhaps he is wrong about wanting to have a sibling.

Instead of a monster he was been expecting, in the cradle lays an angel. The child's eyes are heavy with sleep, a sparkling deep blue that Sebastian immediately finds himself enraptured with. With a sleepy murmur, the babe reaches out with tiny fingers and Sebastian graces the hand with a kiss.

"It is a pleasure to meet you."

The child gurgles, blinking its sleepy eyes and rubbing at its pale cheeks with its free hand.

"Ah, Sebastian! I see you've already met our baby boy, Ciel!"

Sebastian blinks, training his red eyes on the child whose small sausage-like fingers have wrapped themselves around Sebastian's index finger.

"Yes, I have, Ma'am." He paused, glancing up at the Phantomhives before a small smile graces his pale lips. "I guess a baby is not so bad," Sebastian adds on under his breath.
