Life is okay. I'm slightly upset that we don't have snow... but school is over for now! And I've met some awesome people. :D

As for fandom...it could just be that you're getting older, and fandom is generally kinda young. (Aren't you like...19 by now? Damn, I think you were in high school when we met lol) I noticed a lot as I got older I didn't really care for it anymore, or I cared for it in a different way. Finding people that are older and into the fandoms you are definitely helped me get into them more, too. The Con experience had definitely changed for me too since I was 16 O.o Still awesome, just different.

like they enjoyed having ship wars but i enjoy talking about the aspects of how each ship would work even if i dont enjoy them. i dont understand why they get so worked up about their ship. it's really sort of scary.

it's also why i wanna go to cons more-- so i can meet more people who are equally as passionate about fandom as i am and who is not a douche. ;__; dkjshfkusef because they cant hide behind a computer and cant act like a big butt.

but it's sorta hard to break into their groupie if you're not cosplaying, eh?

OF COURSE I AM. I'm going to be sort of co-teaching/supporting an academic panel there about manga/anime and the otaku sub culture. XD

SERIOUSLY. I've met so many great people at cons. (SMALL cons, particularly) of course there's always the like WTF WHY YOU 16 I DON'T EVEN kind of encounters though. And true, cosplay is kind of an instant ticket to be able to walk up to someone and not look like a creeper. Unfortunately even in THAT world there are the huge douches...>.

I feel so far removed from fandom it makes me sad. :( I have the things I like and I talk about them sometimes with the handful of friends I still talk to via AIM or whatever, but apart from that... I feel like an outsider.
