Ok - So I was a little stunned. And, certainly sad. I love BNL largely because of Steve's involvement/musical influences on the band. But, really, I'm not devastated. I can't find it in me to feel that way

I'd love to hear more Jim too. Now that the initial shock has worn off, I'm actually looking forward to seeing how the band transforms. I love some of the songs that Ed has written in the past for others (He Makes Me Want Her Again). I am thrilled that I was there for their final performance on the cruise and I will be seeing their first performance without Steve at Universal.
On the other hand, I'm completely surprised by remarks made by Ed and Steve in interviews that they are surprised that the fans are taking it so hard. Really? They've always had dedicated fans, just vacationed with many of them, and wrote a pretty vague statement on the internet - we didn't even get it through the Ladies Room, Sixthman, or any other email notification.
Agreed. For smart guys, they can be really dumb sometimes. You didn't think people would be upset? Duh!
I also find it 'amusing' that the email we did get from Nettwerk was "hey buy the S&D V shows" on the same day that they post a message on the website, 'oh yeah, Steve left the band'
