watch old movies, they'll rekindle your faith in the movie-making world. Remember that 90% of everything is crap, so just let it slide by.

Now the A-Team movie, on the other hand, looks like a great excuse to get drunk and laugh and eat/throw popcorn.

I just rewatched "Belle du Jour". It's kind of bumpy, but it presents questions and themes but not answers. There are repeating motifs that are either meaningful or coincidence, I'm not sure which. What fun!

Even "Hollywood" has changed over the ages. "Desire" with Cary Grant and Marlene Deitrich is a simple romantic romp with a number of set-pieces and bad rear projection. But it's fun nonetheless.

I saw an article that described what has to happen to get a movie made, in terms of money. Funding, but also *insurance* is incredibly expensive, which leads to getting funding just for the insurance... I didn't get it.

That "Primer" and "Memento" got made makes me very happy for the future.
