i can't say i've got any experience with Japanese mythology, but the Shinto culture is fascinating.

i don't recall what translation i had, but it made The Inferno was a quick, easy, and interesting read.

Lamb is on list of books to read as both of my roommates have raved about it.

the best thing for me when i was made to read books for school was to allow myself to enjoy them instead of taking them as a chore i had to complete. i hope you can do the same. good luck!
