Well I finally got the last Harry Potter read. I only read it at work, because my other time was mostly spent with Janne. Deathly Hollows
Maybe it was how I read the book, short periods at a time with interruptions, that I didn't like the DH that much. I'll re-read it the same way I read through the other books: spent an entire day on it and do nothing else but read, if that would make me like the book better.
I just downright nearly hate the last chapter, it's so disgusting! I can't stand the names of Harry's kids. I mean really, come now J.K Rowling! Albus Severus, James and Lily?! Those are all names related to Harry and I just find them appalling. Why not come up with new names so that not everything would be so damn Potter-related. And didn't Ginny have anything to say about the names? The Weasley family is huge, surely there are people whose names Ginny would've like to pass on. Or maybe she's just too in love to do anything but to go along with Harry. Then there's also the fact that of course Harry had the most kids and Draco (just gotta love his kid's name, Scorpius) just one. Ron and Hermione (I knew they'd get together and I'm just so very happy about that, been waiting for it for many books) had two, which is a nice number to Harry's friends: not as much as the big star himself but more than his (ex-?)enemy. Fucking irritating. DH would've been toleratable if it hadn't been for that bloody last chapter than ruined a lot for me.
The fact that Snape wasn't evil-evil was obvious, but there should've been more of him. I know that there weren't really places in the book for him to say his lovely remarks, but I still would've liked some. Lily being Snape's big love was just a very dull and boring solution, but I can live with it, it's after all not as bad as Albus Severus and the lot.
Quite a lot of people and creatures died in the book. I wasn't moved by any of the deaths, I don't think JK has a way of writing them properly, I'm not touched. Hedwig was a surprise but an understandable one.
A lot of things were explained in the book and lose ends tied, which was nice. Of course there were a few places a bit over the top, like Harry talking to Dumbledore at the end...blah, anyone?
I hope re-reading the book with better time will make me like the book better, becaue I would like to like all of the seven Harry Potter books.
I'm feeling a bit tired. I had a night shift but didn't get afterwards more than 5 hours of sleep, so I need to take a nap.
I still need a sofa in my room, it's essential.
