While I am currently intrigued--and slightly ashamed--with the notion of writing as a method to expose intent, I do find that these journals do sometimes promote behavior unfitting of a shinobi. Do not worry so much, Lee, you have a discerning eye, though different than my own. Gai-sensei is a strange, often idiotic character, but I cannot deny that his intentions and motives are pure.
You cannot ignore your dreams; they are strings of fate, tiny shards that reflect our subconscious.
You don't always have to talk about Gaisensei like that. But concerning my dreams, Nejisan, while I don't believe in fate like you do, it would be nice to believe that my dreams are some mirror to the future. But in this matter, I can agree with you that my efforts are completely futile.
While we may still be bound by fate, while we may not be able to change the flow of the river, we can become an obstacle in its path. It may be possible to supercede our confined roles, though the trick of the matter is finding out how.
