I get really annoyed in classes when I have to pretend to be "ethnically" something other than American--especially since all of my ancestors have been here since before Ellis Island opened. It's not even like most of my ancestors were from one place. Europe, yes, but from all over Europe. I wish "American of European descent" would be enough, but
