Multifaceted outrage

The winners have been announced and none of my favorite authors won. Why? Because the awards were totally dominated by SS/HG. I'd be willing to bet that the AD/MM and the SS/MM stories that were nominated weren't even read by half the people who went to the site because no one wants to believe that AD and MM can be sexual, and the only female SS ( Read more... )

And I can't stand SS/HG anymore! I think about this pairing everything is said and written ... and whatever was said and written: Nothing - not even some stories I really enjoyed - could change my opinion that Snape is a mean bastard. That's why I mostly kill him pretty early in my stories. ;-)

I think people are confusing Movie!Snape with Book!Snape. And the only reason why there are so many well-written SS/HG stories is because people just plug the characters into the Regency Romance mold. I wonder how these same writers would do without a script?

I think a few Snape writers would do rather well - such as Kalinalea for example. She was the one who made me read SS/HG and besides she was the one who made me come to lj (and if I remember right: She was the one who got me my code for getting a lj myself). Her stories are just wonderful.

Yet you're nevertheless right. Although I know some people in the SS fandom will find that insulting: I firmly believe that SS wouldn't be so beloved if he wouldn't have become played by Rickman. Only ... well, how shall I put it? I actually don't understand the fascination with Rickman either. He's a decent actor and he's got a nice voice. But his grumpiness (and he's grumpy in every movie he does!) I can't find "sexy".
