Ahhhh major squee!!! Oh my God oh my God oh my God! *teeny mode* *takes a deep breath* Wow. This is just really exciting - your first book! Your name where the author's name is! And you know I love the colors =)
There's a good Jewish word to describe the satisfaction and joy parents gets from their children when the children do good - "nachat", or, in a more Yiddish-like way, like American Jews say it, "naches". We always wish people to have a lot of nachat from their kids. You're not my child technically, but I'd say I just realized how nachat feels.
I'm going to start crying if you talk like that. :) Thank you so much, honey, it means so much to me that I've made you proud. Of course I love everyone and care about their opinion, but your approval means something extra special to me. I think it's because we've been through so much together, you know? We've been down a long, long road and you're a big part of the reason why I'm here today.
Wow Kayla it's amazing, your first book!! You must be sooooo excited. The cover looks wonderful (purple is one of my fave colours). Wow, wow, wow =) congrats again! Could you send me a copy of your book (signed by the author, of course!)?
Thank you, honey! I am definitely very excited, it's something that I've wanted for a long time and to see my dream realized is amazing. Your congrats means a lot to me, thank you!
I will definitely send you a signed copy, but I might need your address again. :)
Wonderful!! Jumps up and down and throws confetti!
I love the cover design-very evocative of the writer's jumble of ideas and manuscripts. And a butterfly paperweight--great word picture, a paperweight made of an almost lighter than air creature of beauty.
Where will they be selling it? On Amazon? I intend to buy one!
It's funny how things like this can turn out; in the beginning I had a concept in my head about what the cover looked like and was a little disappointed when my publisher informed me that a few things had to be changed. For a while I was a bit worried about how it would look and if my vision would be totally compromised, and while it's entirely different from what I originally pictured it's still exactly what I wanted. Definitely a "better than I could have imagined" kind of moment
