anyone have any advice about chicago? i'm moving there at the end of the month for school. I'm wondering mostly about public transit at night, bars, shows, all ages venues i could possibly work at... anything really

Where will you be living? The red line and blue line both operate 24 hours a day.

Good luck with jobs, though. It's ugly. If you're highly experienced in some area and you happen to catch a place at the right time, then possibly. But it's really not fun right now.

Yeah you should have nooooo problem at all with transportation at pretty much any hour. I live fairly far north on the red line and my school is at the Chicago & State stop, so it takes me about 35 minutes or so to get there, so obviously a shorter commute for you even if you're going further south to the loop. There shouldn't be a shortage of transportation or things to do where you'll be. I'm not into bars or whatever but if you are, you should love it.
