Pennyyyyyy. One of the biggest tragedies of her situation is the fact that no one believes her about That Other Girl, and you capture that so well here. Who would believe this? I particularly like how needy That Other Girl is, because where would she be - for that matter, what would she be - without Penny around? And this line - She could ask for so much. Tell her to get a job to help her pay the rent, ask her to cuddle with her at night and stay when daylight hit, explain to Chick and the others that she wasn't horrible or a flake, just her life was fucked at the moment. - is my favorite, not just because it's so well-written, but because of what we see immediately after: Penny needs all these things, but likes the attention she gets from That Other Girl, likes feeling important.

Damn, girl, you're good. You're really good.
