Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving 2000: Walked to Terry's; we rode the four-wheeler. Renée spent the night at my house.
Thanksgiving 2006: I spent the early afternoon with friends of my dad's. We had to leave before they ate.
Thanksgiving 2007: First without my dad. But I have a huge family to visit. I love the holidays for that.
Thanksgiving 2008: Family, feasts, and maybe more funny videos...?
I was just reading through old livejournal entries. And by old, I mean more than seven years old. I started this journal in the summer of 2001. My first entry really got to me with what's been happening lately. I was also just as vague in my entries back then as I am now. Some things never change. ;)
Now all of those old entries are private. What's in the past is in the past. It's for me to remember and take the good memories and valuable lessons.
I realize that I was a super emo teenager. Sorry 'bout that. Lately I have realized that a simple change of attitude can really work wonders. I wish I would've known that way back when! Oh well, you know what they say -- hind sight is 20/20.
Then again, maybe if I hadn't experienced all of those things and handled them the way I did, I wouldn't be the person I am today. And I generally like me. No one is perfect, but improvement comes with growth, and growth takes time.
Mmm... green bean casserole. :)
