You know what I'm studying right now? The male reproductive system. Yep. JOY. What's worse than the diagrams are the pictures of the male genital diseases. I'm not going to get into descriptions, but... yeah. Totally not my favorite thing to deal with.

Good news first: I'M NOW A STUDENT! An honest-to-goodness student who is starting class June 4!  I'm so happy. It's such a HUGE step for me. Sis definitely has pneumonia. They've put her on two antibiotics to cover all the bases. The ER doc did want to admit her, but since we're at a hoity-toity hospital and not the county, they're refusing to admit her unless she signs a payment plan. Ridiculous. Sis has bilateral pneumonia, which is why she was so short of breath. This is the second (or third?) Time she's had pneumonia in the last five years. The last time I know she had it, it was so bad they had to remove the lower lobe of her right lung. Hopefully we've caught this time early enough that we can kill it quickly with antibiotics ( Read more... )

Sis is in the ER. We've been here since 8am, after she started having severe shortness of breath. Her heart rate is high and BP low, which definitely means something is wrong. She was also incredibly pale - her lips were almost white - before they put her on oxygen. They've run an EKG and are running cardiac enzymes just to check and make sure it's ( Read more... )

Holy crap. I drove 115 miles (ish) today. Seriously. I live up in NW Harris County (a far northwest suburb of Houston). I drove from there to close to downtown, which is 30 miles, to see Monica.
