Wow - had the realization today that this will be my first valentine's day since I was 16 that I don't have a sweetheart. Not that I have done anything for valentine's day in the last 10 years, but still. Someday, I will have hopelessly romantic evening - even if it isn't on a commercial day of the year.

well, i've only had one year WITH a sweetheart. just take the opportunity as an excuse to do something for your friends/cute boys you know just for the sake of it, which is what i tend to do. one year i just bought some roses and gave them to strangers one by one.

Being a hopeless romantic, I've done all sorts of silly/mushy things on Valentines Day (I refuse to call it V-day, which makes it sound like a disease), but my favorite thing to to every Valentines Day is the GIANT pillow fight in SF at 6pm at Justin Herman Plaza. It's a SF tradition, and tons of fun. Literally hundreads upon hundreads of people in a bigger pillowfight than you could imagine.
