for commuter students, i have little sympathy. for residents, however, the housing contract explicitly guarantees parking in its supporting documents("Rates include all utilities, parking, basic cable, and a telephone hookup"). for those who have ever lived in towers and tried to find parking after 2am but the drescher hill is full, as are the street, you know that if you have to walk more than a mile from their parking spot, you may be asking, where exactly is this parking spot i paid for. there has been some failure on the school's side in fulfilling their end of the agreement. additionally, if public safety is going to ticket so scrupulously when there is a serious parking shortage, there should be zero tolerance for illegally parked university vehicles. these vehicles pose the same threat to lives of student as privately owned vehicles, yet they persistently park in red zones. should the spoiled girl be getting tickets? yes. however, when pepperdine service vehicles are permitted to park illegally, no one should be surprised when

Dude, people at Pepperdine ARE spoiled. Parking tickets at other schools cost A WHOLE heck of a lot more, esp. if you park in the red. I don't know how it is now at Pep, but when I was there, I remember most of the time you can fight off your ticket and win. At UCR, you TRY fighting your ticket (even if you got it for a stupid reason--i.e. The stupid parking man didn't see your parking pass which was placed in the correct place and he was on crack or something...) you have to go to a hearing, waste your time and you still end up losing. If you choose not to pay your ticket, they'll report it to the DMV and it ends up costing a lot more.

Parking isn't as bad at Pep as it is in other schools. At least Parking is still free (right?). Parking at UCR cost $200 per quarter. QUARTER!

People at Pepperdine are spoiled. :).
