I already know how to drive one; in fact, I prefer manual to automatic transmissions. But thanks!

You want tick practice? Go walking in white shorts in high grass and just wait... Only trick is getting 'em off before they get really into you.

Best thing to do with the first aid kit is to either build your own, or buy a cheap one and supplement it with a couple of tools and consumables. Moleskin, needle-nose tweezers, scissors, extra band-aids (they're cheap and you WILL run out when you least expect it), roll of gauze, tape and antibacterial ointment are the essentials. As funding permits, add drugs - painkillers/fever reducers, antihistamines, cortisone cream and decongestants.

I also add a couple of survival essentials to my kit; small mirror, needle/thread, butane lighter, space blanket. Just so when I'm going camping/hiking I only have to pack the one item. I don't know if there's any possibility of you getting into a survival situation away from a supplied camp, but just sayin'. This sounds like it'll be awesome for you. I am actually quite jealous.

I managed to find a little first aid kit at REI that came with almost all of the stuff you listed, and on top of that we'll be going out with an actual Federally approved kit. A mirror and lighter are both really good suggestions! Thanks!
