This was epic--the characterization, the pacing, the slow discovery of his true feelings for Bilbo--the discussion between the three of them at the end--this whole part was just perfection. Sheer perfections. It's going into memories, along with part one. Please update soon, because I love what you've done here and where it's going. You're a true storyteller.

Everyone froze, and it took Thorin half a moment to fully realize that it was he who had shouted - roared - at the cluster of gathered dwarves, the word imbued with every bit of authority he could muster.
Mmmm, that's delightful. And ugh, I don't know, I can't quote everything I loved because it would be too long, but Fili and Kili being delighted they weren't being chewed out, and all the sparring practice(Oh God, I love when the mithril coat is made into a symbol of love!) and then Dwalin being frank with him--and Balin knowing all along that he was in love! That just made me grin like crazy. This is beautiful and totally hits the spot for me, and I'm looking forward very much to the next update!

I love the characterization of both Bilbo and Thorin. All in all, this story is quite delicious in every aspect!
