I loved my time at Vassar, which is about as liberal-arts-college as you get. Bard College is near Vassar and quite a bit smaller and more relaxed. And so far I've heard wonderful things about Grinnell, although it is in Middle-of-Nowhere, Iowa and apparently it can be stingy on financial aid.

Uh. Can't think of any others off the top of my head.

I've heard really good things about Davidson College from friends who go there. I remember I considered The University of Richmond and was pretty impressed.

Never doubt this: I'd LOVE to go to UNC. It's actually pretty much my first choice, and I will apply, but I'm almost 99% sure I won't get in, so I try not to dwell on UNC too much.

The fact is, I'm a good student but UNC is selective and only admits, what is it, 18%?--from out of state, so all odds are against me getting in. *Sigh*

Yeah, it's only 18% of out of state students. I probably wouldn't have been admitted if I weren't in state. If it helps any, I was rejected from my fist choice (Columbia) and now think that I'm happier at UNC than I would have been at Columbia. (I'm not saying that UNC is the best, just that our first choice isn't always the best school for us. I know quite a few people who went to their first choice, only to transfer during their first year becuase it wasn't what they wanted.)

Are you planning on visiting UNC at any point in time?

Penn State!!

Seriously, PSU is nationally accredited in pretty much anything you would want to major at there, and they literally have everything. And if you get to school and decide you want to try something more technical, we have that too.

And we have amazing ice cream. Seriously.
