1. art nouveau:
   I like its stylized aesthetic, especially when it involves deer.
2. cannibal the musical:
   A wonderful movie you should see that was made by Trey Parker when he was in film school.
3. fiestaware:
   The plate pattern I collect, except I don't actually buy the original fiestaware because it's big $$$ and I believe it contains lead.
4. handwriting:
   I take pride in having good handwriting. I also like studying other people's handwriting, especially if it is particularly nice or particularly messy.
5. jeanne dielman blue/green:
   Certain shades of blue-green as featured in the movie Jeanne Dielman, 23 Quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles.
6. lightweight backpacking:
   There are sort of two schools of backpacking thought. One is the traditional sort and the other involves being obsessive about weight: leaving out anything extraneous and drilling holes in your toothbrush handle to save a gram and such. The idea is that you'll enjoy yourself more when you're not in pain.
7. mini-dachshunds:
   Casey's dad has one and we like it.
8. old tools:
   In the interest of being less dependent on electricity, I like things that run on human power like wood planes and treadle sewing machines and Victrolas, and The Woodwright Shop.
9. replying to old entries:
   A suprise, like buried treasure that may or may not ever be found.
10. square foot gardening:
    A gardening method that's supposed to give you the most yield in a small space without a lot of screwing around. There's a book and there used to be a show.
