I have to recommend Costa Rica, we just LOVED it! But if you really don't want to travel around it might not be the place for you. There's so many different areas to visit and enjoy.

We stayed at Xandari, Villa Caletas near Jaco, the Tabacon in Arenal, and the Peace Lodge in VaraBlanca. All of them were amazing but Villa Caletas was best for relaxing.

Oh, so happy I clicked over here while you're planning a vacation! I'm also trying to plan a getaway for my husband's 30th birthday and have been searching for just the right spot. I'm torn between Puerto Rico (either Old San Juan or El Conquistador) and the Dominican (Casa de Campo). Here are some links that might help you
