Oh wow! I'd want to live there too!

It's worth a try to email her and find out. Maybe even send her some pictures and a story about you guys?

Good luck!

It's so pretty!!! I have no clue on NYC prices, but wow... sounds like such a great area. I'm so excited for you to get back to NYC, even if it is just for a summer. Hopefully you and D will end up back there after b-school.

Looks nice...would be perfect: a little pricey though.

Also, I didn't see anything about pets....have you been in touch with her?

hi emily! we have so many mutual friends (rach being one of the greatest, of course ;) and I was thinking we should friend each other... rachel has met me IRL and can vouch for me!! I'm also a "wish I were living in NY" person so I can empathize!! :)

Absolutely -- I couldn't agree more! I've certainly seen you around many of the same journals I frequent, so consider yourself friended. Welcome to my little world...

Erika, meet Emily....Emily meet Erika. I would love for you guys to be friends. Em, Erika is from NY, went to Barnard and is often in the city--I think she loves Manhattan as much as you do!

Plus, I want all my friends to be friends with each other!

The price is probably as high as it is because of the area, which is obviously one of the most expensive areas of the city to live in. To give you som perspective, we pay about $2500 a month for a relatively small unfurnished one-BR on the upper east side...

If you want that area, that's probably going to be within the range that you will find for a furnished sublet. If you want to stay in your budget, you might need to look a bit farther north (east or west side) or farther east/west (like over to 1st/2nd ave or over to 8/9th). A friend of ours found a great sublet last summer in the east 30s for about $2200 a month for a one-BR.
