I found out on Monday night that my grandmother (on my mom's side) had passed away earlier that day. She was ill for awhile, having been diagnosed with dementia and parkinson's disease years ago, so this is still upsetting but not entirely unexpected. It didn't occur to me until Friday night that this weekend is orientation weekend at Muhlenberg. Finished Harry Potter. I'll probably reread the series soon before I officially review it, but my initial reaction was WOW. I also could not stop crying towards the end, a rarity for me. I went out to dinner with my parents and sister earlier, which I thought would be awkward and boring but actually wasn't too bad. After dinner, my mom drove us all to the library where I work so my dad and sister could see it. It was closed but my dad was still very interested in it.
