One of my muses is such a fucking clothes whore.

Yes, I went shopping today. But it was very not me shopping. I realize most of you don't know me f2f, but trust me when I say that burgundy linen draw string capris, a pale khaki colored long sleave T with a slight lighter colored lotus on it, and leather sandals are not my usual style. At all.

I've only met you once, but even from that brief meeting, it is clear that you would look decidedly unlike yourself in such garments, not necessarily bad, but very different.

I do tend to wear really incongruous things in the summer, so it's not quite as weird as it sounds (I thought I should specific since we've met so briefly), and shades of near-white are certainly sort of a thing with me, but as I walked out of Old Navy with sandals (I do not show my feet. I do not show my feet. It's a thing) I just sort of realized that if tsarina were here, I'd get an immediate and incredulous, "What got into your closet?" before she doubled over in laughter.

One of my muses thinks that my fushia and gold feather boa is a good idea for daywear, if that makes you feel any better.

You don't take him shopping, I hope. Heh.

Um...

*looks at melon-colored mesh blouse, sparkly copper halter top, and entire collection of neon fishnets*

At least I only wear the fishnets of the house. :)

That makes me think of all the ugly striped things I own. "Oh, those are Brian's fault." Entirely. Especially the ugly pants. The ugly pants that get more compliments than practically anything I own. Heh.

I'm rather glad I can't afford to go shopping with any of my "modern times" muses. One of them dresses in "ex-hippie chic" (and so do I sometimes, but one's closet only needs so many tie dyed items and big poet shirts). The other two ... well they're both of the "fugly shirt" persuasion, and while they may occasionally pull it off, I wouldn't be able to.

Heheheh. Most of the stuff I come away with from these excursions works for me. Most of it. I have one particularly horrible sweater in horizontal stripes of primary colors, that I haven't worn since the first week I bought it, because it's just so so so wretched, and on me as a girl people say it's cute, which was not what the intent was at all. Luckily it only cost me $10. But still.

*looks down at huge oversized sweater and laughs*

Well at least it's a fairly tame light gray/dark gray combo.

This sounds horribly familiar...

I was fairly well horrified with myself.
Especially now that it's so cold again I can't bloody wear any of it.
