Memory - all alone in the moonlight.

Last night I saw a performance of Cats at the Fox Theater here in Atlanta. This was the second time I've seen the show (admittedly the first time was nearly 10 years ago), but I still just don't get it. I'm not just talking about the plot itself, though that would be a whole lot more comprehensible if the songs weren't all sung so high and the cats didn't have a tendency to speak in unison, all 25 of them.

You sound like my parents at Rent. "They just mumbled and sang so fast! We couldn't understand anything!!"

I was *not* slashing the dancers from Cats.

You are *SO* very broken. Although I would have been slashing them, too. Hee. "Not too big."

I know I'll see it eventually.

Seems they're showing the previous week's episode before each new episode, so you might be able to catch it next week at 8. It wasn't a Michael episode, though. He was only in it for a couple of minutes, much to my relief. I want to like Michael, but every other word out of his mouth is either "my son" or "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALT!" and I just can't take it anymore. Last night's was a Jack episode, with a decent amount of Sawyer, Locke and some Kate.

HEY! I am so very offended by that mostly because it's true.

I'm almost less inclined to care about a Jack episode than a Michael episode. Almost. Do they really need to tell us more about Jack's daddy issues? Tell us more about Charlie's brother issues, dammit!

I actually didn't mind the Jack episode, although I did get a little bit bored halfway through and have a short conversation with my cats about the show and how they need to stop adding characters and asking more questions and instead explore the main characters from last season (when's the last time we had a Claire episode?) and answering more questions. The cats didn't seem to have an opinion one way or the other.

mgal babbled something about next week being a Charlie episode.

When you start expecting them to reply, then I will be worried.

In honesty, I've never seen it in person and have no desire to. I watched a pre-recorded show on Showtime a while back of the stage performance in New York and I thought it was boring and kinda pointless.

I think most people come out of it scratching their head while speaking praises that mostly add up to "weren't the costumes cool" and "pretty lights" because they're scared to admit that they too...really don't get it, or to flat out say that it sucked.

In short (too late)...I didn't care for it

I saw a lot of the head-scratching going on. In fact, towards the end, the two girls sitting next to me were clearly fed up with the show and they started snarking on it. I found it both funny and mildly irritating, though that last bit was mostly because I couldn't chime in with my own evil remarks.

But mostly I don't get why this show was so critically acclaimed and why it ran on Broadway for 50 million years.

Dude I *know*. It makes no sense. I don't get that show at all. I saw it once and it dragged on and on.
