How terrible. I've missed a lot of the news lately and did so in part consciously. I don't need endless rehash of such a tragedy. I agree with you, the VT shooter deserves some sympathy too even if his actions were heinous.
At the same time, every day there are good things happening. They may be small in comparison but there are many in number - people helping out other people for no personal gain, people working together to do something good. You have to hold on to those kinds of things in the face of all the bad because bad things will always happen. But so will good things.
I know what you mean. It's like living on the edge really. And top it off with this morning's reminder on the radio that is the the 12 year anniversary of the OKC bombings. And tomorrow the Columbine.
Yes, they were terrible, and yes the victims deserve to be remembered - but must we really dwell on those events year after year?
This morning my mother and I got into a discussion on another school shooting - the Jonesboro one. My aunt worked at one of the hospitals in the area at that time. My mother read an article about one of the boys - well, young man now - who was released, then picked back up a few weeks later for possession of a firearm. They said he fell in with the wrong crowd - but really, is the 'right' crowd going to accept him? No. In a sense he is doomed for failure. All because of a choice he made as an angry youth.
