Trench continues to go down well. We’ve solidly hit galestra-the sterile soil layer on top of the archaic destruction level-and we’re starting to pull up tile, so we should hit the tilefall today or tomorrow. Our students so far have been good, although it’s becoming clear there are a couple socially awkward/pompous ones who are irritating the ( Read more... )

hey, how are things?

We finally got the puppy!! She is SO CUTE. Pictures pending. Also, i took the babies to a horse show and didn't die, so that is another good thing.

Have you uncovered anything exciting yet? Say, a skeleton? Or a stargate? Or a dinosaur?

Also, i just finished watching the penultimate episode of the fashion show... james-paul is still little and adorable and way too serious about life.

Anyway, i require an update!

OOOH and i saw the latest harry potter movie... pretty good.

EMILY COME BACK I NEED SOMEONE TO SQUEE WITH.

PUPPY!!!! Did you name her yet? My trench suggested Hypatia today and when I told them that you were saving it for your child they immediately decided that you were really awesome.

I personally think we've found the amazing bronze chicken, because we're pulling up a lot of tiny burned bones and a ton of bronze. It is quite excellent that you have actually named two of the top three goal finds of our staff--dinosaur, stargate and lightsaber. You would fit in so very well here. Our slightly tipsy conversation last night was all about Torchwood :)

Go James Paul! I will root for him now that my little loco chicken has departed. I wish I could watch it :(

I'll be back in 3 weeks and I've got a 12 hour drive to make. I'll be bored and have unlimited texting and a phone that works....

So very pleased that your babies have decided to behave in public. I want a fuller report--how'd they place, how their rides were...

I MISS YOU!

Yes, after much debate, we finally named her Lark. There was much sniping over this, but we finally agreed - only because in the meantime we have started calling her 'Squeeger' and needed to find a real name before she started answering to it ( ... )

Lol, you know we could move this conversation to email eventually....:)

I like Lark! But the poor thing will now irrevocably be a squeeger and that is a terrible terrible fate. She will be laughed at! Email me photos when you can.

It's pretty much nerd camp out here, although this year we went for less crazy, more normal in the students and mostly ended up with mediocre. They don't pay attention at all and I'm still pulling rocks and dirt clods out of my pottery. GRR. There are a couple cute ones but they seem so young (they're all sophmores and juniors)! If you were here though I'd totally hook you up with the irish grad student who looks like harry potter.

GOOD PONIES! I am so pleased that they were excellent and did not try to kill you. How's Ariel?

I love it here, but the people can be a little intense at times. I miss our midnight adventures :(
