travel plans for summer:
- some time in June: St.Andrew's
- july 4-23: Warsaw, Prague, Vienna, Krakow
- early august: ottawa (parent's move back the first week of the month!)
- sometime in august: halifax/sailing on the bluenose
- end of august: move back to ottawa
- early september: hamilton and toronto (before i have to go and get a job again!)

signs of spring from my childhood:
- bare sidewalks
- the smell of sunscreen
- taking bikes out for the first time
- gravelly gutters
- crocuses
- the sound of dynamite on the river

i suspect that perhaps wine was never meant to be bottomless.

to the guy that drove by me on regent street yesterday in the aerostar with the spinning hub caps? i salute you.

i definitely spent a good portion of last night getting torn down by my rather inebriated prof who basically told me i was too cocky and forecasted my academic doom.

it's very sobering to drive through oromocto - every tree along every main street is tied with a yellow ribbon. some of the houses where people are away have whole trees full of ribbons. anyway, i knew as soon as i heard that they were all from base gagetown that things were going to go badly.

i wish everyone got as excited about easter as i do! i guess i'll just have to eat my hot crossed buns and hold my annual easter bunny watch by myself :( at least i've coerced kurt into coming to church with me tonight with the promise that it will be entertaining.

when i was talking to kurt on the phone (from ottawa), he said i sounded really different, more relaxed. the prospect of returning to fredericton now has me all in a fit of nerves.

that is clearly the last time i leave anything as important as christmas cards to livejournal - i still had to track everyone i wanted down, or wait for them to track me down. in trying to be efficient, i neglected to consider the fact that nobody i planned on carding this year seems to read/update very often. lesson learned. mail goes out on ( Read more... )

this week's been all about long days and late nights, enormous quantities of tea - keep me awake without getting jittery. hours of staring at computer screens and writing until my hands cramp up. whole sunny days in the computer lab, and cloudy ones sitting crossed-legged til by legs go numb, waiting for bob marley to inspire me in my efforts to ( Read more... )

i wish i'd been able to go home for thanksgiving this year. i love what an extravaganza american thanksgiving is. it's like regular, canadian thanksgiving, but taken one step further. think of canada day vs the fourth of july.
