7 kittens, but one didn't make it. I don't know if he was stillborn or died after birth. I went to check on momma and the babes and the little guy wasn't moving. I cleared his airway, tried gently blowing into his mouth, used a warmed cloth and tried to stimulate his heart, but no good. The other kittens are fine. I feel sad for the lost one

I'm happy to hear that most of them made it, and sorry about the one that didn't. It's fairly common from what I understand, although I don't know why.

Thank you for being so kind to them. Our mama cat had a litter before we got her neutered, so I know it's both fun and frustrating.

New kittens can be fun and there is a lot of joy from them. I do hope that this is the last litter we have to deal with though. To date, we have had four litters born here for a total of 23 kittens, 2 that didn't make it and 21 that we had spayed/neutered as well as found homes for. I would really like to not be in the kitten business anymore. :smile:
