I just had the weirdest moment where I tried to figure out if the actor who played Alfie was dead or not. I decided he isn't and I was thinking of the Yellow Ranger.

Yes. And, more importantly, a power ranger. It was something of a silly comparison in the first place.

well you certainly hit the ground running (and thats the first time I have ever used that expression). I can't believe that you started your new life sooo fast.
I like Ruby Tuesdays.

I don't want to seem stalkerish, but I can't help but notice that you're in CR. I saw your posts in Elena Flores' friends section of LJ (I'm her sister-in-law and live in CR).

For the love of all that is holy, please don't shop at the ghetto Vee at night. They have a security guard for a reason!

As far as places to eat that are off the beaten path, you might try La Salsita on 1st Ave. It's cute and the food is good. The Blue Strawberry is a great place to get coffee; it's downtown. You might also try Java Creek Cafe. It's north of Blairsferry Road. They often have live music.

If you're wondering where all of the gay guys in town are, you might try Basix (on 1st Ave) and the Dragon (good drag shows there).

Thank you so much for the advice Elena Flores' sister in law. I was feeling hopeless for a while. I will definitely check out the places that you mentioned. I already knew about the gay clubs but I was unsure if they were majorly sketchy or not.

Basix has more of an age range, meaning you'll get everything from younger guys to older guys (like dudes in their 60's). The Dragon generally has a younger crowd, but it can become a bit of a freakshow.

There's an apartment building near Coe Campus on 1st Avenue called the Asadie (or something close to that... it's the ivy covered brick building across from Moose McDuffy's) that houses several people in the CR gay community. If you can meet a few people who live there, you'll be in.

I generally know all of this crap, because one of my friends from HS lives here and is gay. Also, my dad is a board member for the CR GLRC.
