Scene: Shabbat table. We are lighting candles and saying all the blessings. Emily asks, "Can God hear us saying the blessings?"
I say, "Yes, God hears everything."
Pause.
"Because he has really big ears?"

Yes, I'm back. And, yes, we try to do candles/wine/challah every Friday. Doesn't always work out, but we try. Emily can do all three blessings on her own, which makes me very proud :)
