Too cool for school

Last night at hot tubbing, my friends and I were talking about how now is the perfect time to go back to school since I'm not tied to a job currently.

I was thinking for theshort term, I could take a year class to become a Certified Nursing Assistant, that way I will have a better chance of getting my foot in the door of medical care (again).

Oh, rockin'! You should definitely do that, it's what I'm doing starting in May, we can compare notes and encourage each other as we go. :)

My only confusion... year long class? The ones around here range from 1-3 months. (Taking a 3 month one)

If it is only 1-3 months then I am more excited about the idea! I just assumed it was longer.

You might be thinking of a Medical assistant degree instead of a CNA. Medical assistant training is about 1 year.

I could look into either!

You can go to FAFSA.com and if you are going to go to a community college or a state college you should be able to get federal financial aid. I think the deadline may be mid March but all you need if you tax info and you should be golden.... unless you make 50,000+ a year... then you won't get very much.

It is a good starting point though. Also if you go to a college near you they will help you with the finance aspects and they will get you on track for where to go and all that jazz.

I'm not working at all right now so maybe they'll feel extra bad for me!

You should be all set then. You may even get extra money and have a check cut to you at the end of each semester.

as someone who has started taking classes again after 5 years out of college and is currently in the process of interviewing for grad programs, you can do it! it is hard and overwhelming but if you take it one step at a time it is doable.

This is so weird! I just registered for summer classes, and have to just take a placement test. Crazy haha.
