Daiki was thoroughly planning this day for a couple of weeks now, the day he and Yuri, his childhood friend and apparently his current girlfriend will finally go on a date. "Finally!" he said to himself last night when Yuri agreed when he asked her. "I'll meet you at the bus stop at 9AM then." he added before hanging up. "Today is the day!" he said on his own once again. He is now waiting at the bus stop for his dear Yuri. Inside his mind, he is predicting how Yuri would react once their special day starts. His thoughts were interrupted by Yuri's loud voice greeting him a sweet "Good morning!".
"Oh, you're here." Daiki responded and added "Good morning to you too."
"Sorry that I'm late." Yuri lowered her head and apologized for running 15 minutes late.
"It's okay. Come, the bus is here. Let's go?" Daiki offered his hand to Yuri who was catching her breath. They both went inside the bus and rode going somewhere in downtown Tokyo.
"Let's go inside a haunted house together!" Yuri told Daiki. Electricity ran down Daiki's spine when he heard the words "haunted house". It's a very known fact that he is bad at haunted house ever since he was a kid. In this case, Yuri doesn't have a clue about it because they just started going out 6 months ago.
"Haunted house?"
"Yup. We're going to an amusement park right? I want to see the haunted house there." Yuri said with excitement in her eyes. Daiki on the ither hand was nervous, his hands were sweating.
"Don't you want to go experience the rides first?" Daiki, rubbing his hands together hoping that Yuri would say "Yes" and later on forget about her excitement about the haunted house.
"I would love to go experience the rides. It's been a long time since the last time I went in an amusement park. The last time was when I was still in Osaka. But I really want to go inside the haunted house. You would go with me right?"
"A-a" Daiki couldn't utter anything.
"Right?"
"O-Of" Daiki's answer was cut when the bus conductor notified then that they were already in front of the amusement park. Daiki looked relieved.
"Let's go Daiki." Yuri was very excited, pulled Daiki's right hand.
"Yosha! Where should we go first?" Daiki said once they were out of the bus, feeling very hyped up.
"For now, let's go ride the bumper cars. Is that okay with you?"
"It's fine. Let's go?" Daiki held Yuri's hand, being careful not to loose her in such a crowd. Their fingers intertwined and both were happy. The day started great. Not only their faces but their hearts were also smiling.
"Come on Daiki!" Yuri kept on pulling Daiki, excited for their first ride.
"To all who will ride the bumper cars, come on please." said the person who was in charge of monitoring the said ride. Daiki and Yuri went to 1 bumper car each.
"All set. Please fasten your seat belts because we're about to start" a few seconds later, the in charge already gave the signal.
"Yuri!" Daiki drove his bumper car towards Yuri who still couldn't figure out what to do.
"Wait!" Yuri was turning and turning the wheel of her bumper car and finally, it moved. Yuri hissed a sigh of relief. She quickly ran away from Daiki, avoiding to get herself hit. Daiki chased her all over and Yuri was laughing so hard like there's no tomorrow. The ride ended quickly. Sad to say, they need to give others a chance.
"Daiki! You're so mean. You kept on chasing me." Yuri pouted and lightly pounded on Daiki masculine arm.
"We'll, that's the point of the ride isn't it?" Daiki chuckled.
"So, where should we go next?"
"I want to try the roller coaster." said Daiki.
"Roller coaster?" Yuri's face went pale.
"Why? Is something the matter?"
"Oh~ why don't we just play for a while?Look! There's a shooting game and there's a teddy bear as a price. Could you get that for me?" Yuri said looking at Daiki with his puppy-dog eyes, showing her spoiled side.
"S-Sure thing." Daiki felt happy. "Yuri looks cute whenever she acts spoiled.
"Yay!" Yuri said happily. Yuri pulled Daiki to the stall that she was referring to. Daiki laid the money and the person in charge of the stall gave him a rifle that was obviously fake. He was given 3 chances to hit the target. If he does, he will receive the teddy bear as a prize.
"Good luck!" Yuri cheered from behind. Daiki nodded. He placed the rifle as steady as possible, looked at the target straightly and fired his first shot. It was a miss.
"Awe~ too bad mister. Try again."said the stall owner. Once again, he held the rifle steadily and focused on the target. He fired his second shot, another miss.
"One more!" said the stall owner in a loud voice. Daiki was nervous, last chance. he took a deep breath and relaxed his shoulder.
"Gambatte Daiki." Yuri said again from behind. The pressure was high. Sure, Daiki could just bring out another 200 yen and ask for 3 more chances once again but getting this one would make him look cool in Yuri's eyes. He clicked the trigger, hoping that he would hit the target with this last shot. He fired his last shot. Thank goodness, he hit it, head on.
"Yatta! You did it Daiki!" Yuri said as Daiki's eyes widened as he saw the target with a hole in the middle.
"Here you are." said the stall owner as he handed Daiki the big teddy bear. Daiki quickly gave it to Yuri, Yuri's eyes sparkled with happiness.
"You're so cool Daiki." said Yuri. Daiki just scratched his head, feeling embarrassed. He also chuckled a bit.
"Let's go to a cafe. I'm sort if thirsty." Daiki said.
"Sure." Yuri nodded. She clinged to his arm, smiling widely, holding the teddy bear that Daiki got for her.
