That test is called the DLAB- the Defense Language Aptitude Battery. It was the hardest test I have ever, ever, ever taken. I walked ( Read more... )

that probably won't be the last time you are treated like shit for being a female. i've heard sources that say 50% of women in the military are sexually harassed and 30% report rape or attempted rape. i hope you're not one of them.

I must have forgotten to mention in my post that the people who were treating me like shit were not military personnel but everyday men who thought they knew everything.
I appreciate your "concern", but I am very proud of my decision and I am a little offended that you would even leave a comment like that- look closely at what you wrote!
Where did those statistics come from anyway?

i read that statistic in a pamphlet on women and the military. i just looked this up and found an even higher number.

At a press conference during the National Summit of Women Veterans Issues, women cited surveys indicating that up to 50 percent of military women have experienced sexual assaults, and 78 percent have experienced sexual harassment. Because of the intimidation and harassment that women face for reporting assaults, the military's own numbers are much lower. But even so, they show a rise in assaults over the past few years. An analysis of Army records and reports published by The Washington Post on June 3 showed that reported sexual assaults increased 19 percent from 1999 to 2002, from 658 to 753, and rapes increased 25 percent, from 356 to 445 ( ... )
