"Mmmh..... So tired....." Daiki collapsed onto the ground, as the music in the background died down and the JUMP members were finally able to rest.
"Yeah... what's the deal with these 5 hours rehearsals!" Chinen complained.
"Well... its tiring but it has to be done ne?" Keito stretched his legs as he stood up, only to fall down again as his legs gave way, too exhausted to hold the boy up anymore.
"Ne...Keito.... you okay?" Takaki asked.
"He'll be fine, he's a tough one.... meanwhile.. Inoo is over there... crying..." Hikaru gestured in Inoo's general direction.
"I am not.. crying.... that's sweat...you oddball, I'm not cooking anything for you tonight!" Inoo retorted as he rubbed his eyes.
"Kids....." Yabu and Ryutaro shook their heads together.
"Strawberries.....they'll make everything better...." Yamada dreamt of eating just one of the precious berries he had brought.
"I think it's rather fun! Not tired at all... c'mon guys!" Yuto jumped between his fallen bandmates.
"Oi! Skinny! Calm down.... sit with us!" Hikaru sweeped Yuto's legs, causing him to fall, his head hitting Daiki's stomach.
"Itaiii! Owwww....." Yuto sat up slowly before realizing that he had actually fallen onto someone.
"Ow.... that hurt me too!" Daiki put on a sad face.
"Gomen ne..... Dai-chan" Yuto cocked his head to one side and pouted.
"Well, as long as you said you're sorry I guess...... " Daiki nodded matter of factly and petted Yuto on the head.
"Meow.."
"Usually, when someone pats you on the head... you say Ruff"
"MEOWWW"
"Yuto.."
"Nyah! Meow!"
"Yutoo!" Daiki laughed as he fell backwards when Yuto "pounced" on him and started tickling him. The members laughed and watched the two run around the rehearsal room until they finally realized that it was almost dinner time.
"Ne, I'm sooo hungry..." Yuto said, falling into his seat, running around the last 10 minutes with Daiki had worn him out.
"You're calmer this way..." Chinen nodded.
"Do we have to feed him?" Hikaru asked Inoo, putting on a dumb act.
"Heyy! What does that mean!?" Yuto jumped up again
"Guess we should..." Inoo nodded and walked into the backstage area. Lately, as rehearsals grew longer, the jump members had been staying at the studio instead of walking home late at night. They had adapted 6 rooms in the back as their own home and were used to eating among the props for their next performances. Before long, the smell of food rose into the air as they could hear Inoo chopping.
"Ne ne, my boyfriend may be a ditz, but at least he's a good cook!" Hikaru elbowed Daiki in the ribs. Suddenly a leek came flying out of the kitchen and smacked Hikaru in the face.
"I HEARD THAT!" Inoo yelled.
"Sorry! Sooo Sorry!" Hikaru laughed as he picked up the leek and walked into the kitchen. He set it on the chopping board and put his arms under the apron and around Inoo's waist, giving him a small peck on the cheek. Which, Inoo could only smile as he continued chopping the vegetables, sneaking a small carrot piece into Hikaru's mouth.
"Ne ne Dai-chan!" Yuto hopped over and stood in front of the older boy.
"hm?"
"Caan... you help me with this?" Yuto held out a book and pointed to a problem.
"Oh.. yeah.... I hated doing those. but lets see what I remember..." Daiki scratched his head and started to write on the notepad he had beside him.
"Ehhh! I dont get it!" Yuto clasped his head as Daiki finished explaining.
"Maybe you need some food, you seem to think more with your stomach than you do your head. Dinner's ready" Chinen tapped on Yuto's head.
"Heyyyyy! That was mean!" Yuto bounced towards the table where the other members were waiting.
"It's delicious!" Yuto exclaimed as he ate a bit of the curry rice Inoo made, trying to stuff his mouth with vegetables and MORE rice.
"Slow down there Yuto... you're going to choke.." Daiki said, patting the boy on the back gently.
"Well, skinny over there is right... it's delicious!" Hikaru said, smiling as he leaned over and kissed Inoo's cheek before moving on to try kissing Inoo's lips
"No lovey dovey at the table please!" Yamada laughed as he watched Inoo push Hikaru's face away, giggling all the while.
They often spent their nights like this, filled with laughter and joy. Each day passed without much difference. Except, tonight, something new was stirring inside Daiki's mind as he slept. His mind kept replaying the scene where Yuto fell onto him. He could still feel the taller boy's weight upon his stomach, and slowly he retraced Yuto's body with his mind.
"What is going on with me?" Daiki whispered to himself, he turned in his futon and looked at Yuto, dozing peacefully away on the otherside of the room.
"Maybe it's because I see so much of him... yeah that must be why." Daiki reasoned with himself. The longer he thought, the more intensely he began to look at the younger member of JUMP. Yuto certainly was cute, he had decided to wear a soft white t-shirt and white shorts to sleep that night. The gentle light given by the small lamp in the corner of the room cast a gentle glow, highlighting the younger boy's face and beautifully slender legs.
“I just… iya….” Daiki turned away and faced the wall before him, feeling himself blush as he did so.
That night, as he slept, his mind filled with visions of Yuto, every time they had seen each other during their junior years flashed back into his mind

Daiki ran down the hall way as he found himself back stage after the last Shounen Club performance. Someone was crying….. someone in the back hall. He ran down, the small flights of stairs and as he drew near the end of the hallway, the voice sounded more and more familiar, and the more urgent it was for him to get there. Finally, he reached where the sound was coming from, the dressing room that a few of the juniors shared. He slowly opened the door, and there amongst a pile of foldable chairs was Yuto, on the ground sobbing.
“Yuto!” Daiki rushed over, the little boy sniffled as he pointed a single finger towards the chairs near his feet.
“I told you not to worry about putting the chairs up, let the bigger boys do it.”
“B-But….” Yuto tried to speak, but another sob came out instead.
“Did you fall again? Where does it hurt? Did a chair hit you?” Daiki quickly raised the pant legs and inspected Yuto’s legs, making sure to note any spots where scrapes or bruises may be appearing. Satisfied that the young boy was okay, he kicked the chairs out of the way and helped Yuto over to the nearby couch and sat down. He hugged Yuto, letting the younger boy cry into his shoulder until the pain in his legs subsided.
Just as quickly, the entire scene faded and his mind took him again to the same hallway, this time a few years later.
“Daiiiikiiiiii” Yuto ran to him, his arms extended.
“Wha-?” He turned around and found himself in Yuto’s embrace.
“I missed you! How was your trip! Is it tiring to come back and have to work all of a sudden?” Yuto frowned and tilted his head to the side.
Yes, Yuto had always been there, he was always worried, he was always smiling and asking these small questions. Why? Not only that, but why were all these images flashing before him now?
As Daiki thought all these things, another scene flashed into his mind, he was in the dance room again, and Yuto had just fallen on him. He watched as Yuto apologized, and dream-Daiki nodded and petted Yuto. He watched as Yuto meowed and pounced on him. He watched the entire scene play again, and could do nothing but smile.
Finally, the scene faded away and a final scene came to be, he found himself laying with Yuto in bed, they had their arms around each other and were smiling. Gently they kissed, and closed their eyes. Touching their foreheads together, their smiles grew broader and together they drifted off to sleep.

“HWA!” Daiki awoke with a start as his alarm clock rang loudly.
“Unh…that …. Was a weird dream…. That last scene…. It hasn’t happened…. What was that about? Do I…like…him?” Daiki looked over at the bed on the other side of the room, Yuto had left already.
Just as Daiki got out of the bathroom, his phone rang.
“Daiiii-Chan!” Yuto yelled into the phone.
“Uwa, you’re always so full of energy in the mornings Yuto….” Daiki chuckled.
“We’re all waiting for you outside! It’s time to get out of the studio for once! Yay!” He could tell that Yuto was jumping up and down excitedly.
Daiki hurriedly slipped on his clothes and ran out to the front of the studio to find the rest of the members standing there waiting for him.
“Sorry Im late… I uh… woke up late” Daiki nodded an apology to everyone.
The ride out was a quiet one, the other members seemed to be busy listening to the music playing on their own players. As the ride seemed to take forever, Daiki felt rather strange just sitting there. He had forgotten to take his own player and had left it charging next to his computer. To pass the time, he fiddled with his fingers, and stared at his scenery.
“Ne ne, Wanna listen?” Yuto offered one of his earbuds, which Daiki accepted with a small bow and an “Arigatou” The music played was something that surprised him, for someone as active as Yuto, the music playing was a gentle orchestra, playing a beautiful melody. Every second he heard, he could feel something brewing in his stomach, it was so moving, so beautiful. Daiki turned to compliment Yuto on his choice of music, but as he did, he felt something fall against his shoulder. A turn of his head revealed that Yuto had drifted off to sleep and had fallen onto him…again. Once again, Daiki could feel himself blush as the same feelings from his dream infiltrated his mind. With a gentle sliding of his hands, he let Yuto down to his lap and let the boy sleep. Absent-mindedly he stroked Yuto’s hair and looked out at the scenery, before he found the courage to look at the angel dozing away on his legs.
He was beautiful, so pure, and so spirited. Just what was it about him?
“Mmm… Dai-Chan..” Yuto mumbled as he tossed and turned in his sleep.
Daiki froze, he wasn’t sure what to do.
“Ne ne, looks like youuu like him huh?” Ryutaro looked at Daiki.
“W-what are you talking about?”
“It’s kinda obvious, you get kinda flustered when you’re around him.” Chinen butted in.
“I-I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Daiki tried to look away, but found himself unable to break eye contact with the two younger boys.
“See! You’re doing it right now!” Chinen pointed
“And you’re stuttering..” Ryutaro nodded.
“Shush…. And we’re almost there, don’t talk nonsense!” Daiki folded his arms and closed his eyes. They were right though… weren’t they? The older boy asked himself the same questions.
‘Do I like Yuto?’ the boy asked himself.
‘Yes.’ A part of his mind answered, shocking even himself.
“DAI-CHAN! YUTO! Wake up! We’re here!” Takaki yelled in the van, startling the two.
“Okay guys, we have all day and all night here, the studio has given us some money for the day. Let’s go shopping!” Yamada jumped as he pointed in the direction of a huge shopping mall in the background.
“Let’s pair up, so we don't get totally lost.” Inoo suggested, as Hikaru jumped beside him, and their hands met. Yamada rolled his eyes and nodded.
“I want….Dai-Chan!” Yuto said as he wrapped his arms around Daiki and dragged him towards the mall.
“Does this look good on me?” Yuto asked, pressing a blue shirt against his torso.
“Yes….”
“How about this one?”
“Yes…”
“Are you just saying yes, or are you actually looking!?” Yuto jumped over next to the older boy.
“I’m looking, I promise..” Daiki nodded.
“Then…… you pick something out for me.” Yuto smiled and almost threw Daiki into the clothing racks.
“How about this one?” Daiki said as he pulled a simple shirt from the rack, it had a heart painted on it with music notes erupting from the tip.
“It’s cool looking!” Yuto excitedly grabbed it and took it into the dressing room.
“Ta-Dahh” He said as he came out, waving his hands over himself like a model.
“It fits you very well ne Yuto?”
“Cause Dai-Chan picked it out ne?” The younger boy bounced back into the room and came out of the fitting room with his normal clothes on.
“Aw…. It’s night time….. and I’m hungry ne……..” Yuto frowned as he sat on a bench in the mall’s food court. The day was a successful one, they ended up with 4 bags of clothes, most were ones that they had picked out for each other, and one was just accessories.
“How about some dinner…. Maybe… that restaurant over there?” Daiki pointed to a place that seemed fairly rustic.
“mmmmmmm okay!” Yuto said, pulling the two in, promptly ordering a table near the windows. During dinner, the two could see the city below them, and the stars above them. Together, they talked for the next two hours, while their almost forgotten food grew cold. Eventually, they decided they had better eat or be thrown out and quickly wolfed down the rest of the food. Daiki could only gaze as Yuto quickly slurped up the pasta he ordered. He was cute, and the fact that they could talk for so long only drew them closer to each other. Maybe… he should try for this again…this moment, it just felt, right.
The night ended as the members slowly trudged their way back into the van and took their seats. Inoo and Hikaru had somehow managed to buy 4 bags of clothes each and were busy comparing their wares.
“Hey hey! This wont fit me! It’ll be too tight!” Inoo complained as Hikaru tossed clothes onto him.
“Exactly…..” Hikaru chuckled and with a mischevious grin kissed Inoo before he could protest again.
“I want to show off what I have you know” Hikaru added.
“Gee…. Thanks.. make be sound like a show dog…”
“But…. You’re my very very cute show dog” The couple smiled and they continued picking out clothes.
“Ne… Inoo and Hikaru are very cute together aren’t they?” Yuto asked as he began to slump in his seat, he was beginning to feel drowsy already.
“Yeah… they are” Daiki nodded.
“Ne…”
“hm?”
“I’m tired… can I…..? I’d rest against the window…. But everytime we hit a bump. It hits me…” Yuto motioned towards Daiki’s shoulders.
“Uh.. sure….” The older boy didn’t exactly know what to say.
“Arigatou..Dai-Chan..” Yuto mumbled as he leaned his head against the older boy’s shoulder and nodded off. Daiki felt himself blush again and quickly pretended to be more interested in the pitch black night outside than the boy leaning against him.
“So, you tell him?” Ryutaro asked as he turned around in his seat to stare at his older band mates.
“Yeah yeah, we saw you at the restaurant and didn’t want to disturb you.” Chinen nodded.
“I-I don’t know what you’re talking about…” Daiki folded his arms making sure not to disturb Yuto.
“Oooo looks like there’s going to be another couple in our midst eh?” Yabu whispered loudly.
“Awe…. You two would look cute together…” Inoo nodded his approval.
“B-But…” Arioka started but stopped…. But what?
“But nothing…. Its clearly obvious to everyone that you two have an unofficial thing going… so just make it official already!” Keito said, stunning everyone.
“M-Maybe… “
(>’_’)><(‘_’<) (>’_’)><(‘_’<) (>’_’)><(‘_’<) (>’_’)><(‘_’<) (>’_’)><(‘_’<) (>’_’)><(‘_’<)
Finally, after a long ride they reached the studio and went into their separate rooms. Daiki ended up having to carry Yuto into their room, as he was so groggy. Gently, he put the sleeping boy onto his bed and covered him with his blanket.
“Arigatou… Dai-ch…an” Yuto yawned as he turned and snuggled into his bed.
“N-no problem Yuto… Oyasuminasai” Daiki smiled and walked over to his own bed. At this point, it was clear…
“I love you… Nakajima Yuto..” He whispered into the night air, and he changed into his night clothes and slept peacefully. He felt so free now that he was finally able to come clean about his feelings, even if Yuto didn’t hear them.
The next morning, Daiki woke up and Yuto was still there sleeping, it was about 7:30 in the morning, and usually the boys didn’t wake up until 8:30. Figuring there was no sense in trying to draw out the extra hour, he rose and prepared for the day, making sure to not make too much sound. He walked out to find the other members already at the breakfast table and Inoo and Hikaru already snuggling at the chopping board.
“He only does it cause Inoo’ll feed him first.” Yabu nodded as Daiki walked in.
“I do not!” Hikaru turned and his eyes suddenly stopped, noticing someone join them.
“Well well well…. If it isn’t loverboy Arioka!” Hikaru jumped next to him and quickly ushered him into a chair.
“So…. How you gonna tell him?” Yamada asked, as he peeled a banana and took a quick bite.
“I…don’t know…”
“How about…..” Hikaru had one of his dangerously silly looks on his face
“NO” Everyone at the table stopped him before he could go any further.
“W-What? I was just going to say, use a funny pick up line, buy him a stuffed animal…. And maybe give him some you know…. Gentle encouragement…”
“Just because I was stupid enough to fall for it, doesn't mean that Yuto will.” Inoo added as he set down a few bowls on the table.
“Hey….” Hikaru pouted.
“Okay okay… it might work…” Inoo added a small kiss in Hikaru’s direction.
The entire morning was spent trying to come up with a way to help Daiki and Yuto “hook up” as Takaki had so blatantly put it. Unfortunately, the ideas that seemed to pop into everyone’s head didn't seem to work too well. Each one sounded more ridiculous than the last. Eventually it got to the point where they had to fly between countries for a “romantic evening”
“AH! I know! Isn’t there a festival tonight? They’re holding a small thing in the park near here, they’ll be fireworks and everything! It’s perfect!” Yamada jumped up and down with excitement.
“Ah… that would be nice…” Inoo nodded, his eyes twinkled
“He’s just saying that because he doesn't want to have to cook tonight…” Hikaru added, which earned him a flick on the head from Inoo.
‘Ow… Just kidding! You know I love your cooking…” He apologized.
“mmmhmm..” Inoo nodded and sat down on Hikaru’s lap, his arms around his boyfriend’s neck.
“Ewww… they’re about to make out again…” Ryutaro looked away.
“Jeez guys… keep your hormones in check will you?” Chinen said as he and Ryutaro walked into the break area to watch tv.
Despite everything, Daiki had to agree, that the night festival would be a nice place.
“Okay! I’ll do it tonight!” He jumped up from his chair.
“Do what?” Yuto said coming in, he was rubbing his eyes, and his bed hair made him look all more cuter..
“Uh… nothing….” Daiki quickly sat down, and focused on his bowl.
“Eh…?” Yuto looked confused but shrugged it off and sat down.
The entire day, Daiki was a nervous wreck, he tripped everytime Yuto looked at him at rehearsal.
“Awe… Dai-Chan, are you okay? Yuto frowned as he helped the older boy up after his fourth fall.
“Today…. Is not a good rehearsal day is it?” Their choreographer shook his head and continued. “Okay guys, I know that I’ve been working you hard…. So I guess today I’ll let you guys off early… just don’t tell your managers okay?” The band members nodded, grateful for the break.
A painfully quiet day passed before night passed, and the moment of truth grew nearer. The members once again got into their van and were driven to the local park, which had been decorated with lights strung through the trees, and lanterns hanging from posts. It was lively, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
“Woo!” Yamada jumped off the van and grabbed Chinen and Ryutaro. The three ran to the nearest attraction and excitedly looked at the prizes.
“Let’s go look over there…” Hikaru nodded in the corner direction of the park and Inoo nodded, putting his arm into Hikaru’s. One by one the members left, until it was just Daiki and Yuto.
“Dai-Chan! Lets go try to win some fish ne!?” Yuto went over to the stall where children were trying to catch fish with their paper paddles.
“Awe…. It broke it!” Yuto was frustrated as the fish he wanted broke through his second paddle.
“You’re using too much strength…” Daiki said, as he sat down behind Yuto, handing him another paddle and this time, he put his hand onto Yuto’s and gently guided the boy’s hand. With a quick scoop of his hands, he managed to catch two of the small fish that Yuto had been eyeing.
“Good catch! Those two have been together for so long in the pool, I thought no one would be able to catch the couple. You two must be something special huh?” The stand’s owner smiled and handed the boys a container with water to put the fish in.
“Wow! Dai-Chan! That was so awesome!” Yuto smiled as he looked at the two fish in the plastic container. Together they wandered the festival, until the reached the end of the park and found the seating area for the fireworks. They settled for a small bench under two trees that bent and seemed to be a welcome haven for the two tired boys.
“Hey.. Yuto? Wh…. What do you think… of me?” Daiki asked suddenly as they sat down.
“Huh? What do you mean?” Yuto said, cocking his head to one side, looking confused.
“Well…. I’d like to know…. How you look at me…. What you think of me?”
“I think…… you’re nice.. and gentle.. and kind…. You’re like my best friend….. and my big brother all in one.” Yuto said as he leaned on Daiki.
“Wh-what if…. I wanted to be more than that?”
“Huh?”
“What if…. I wanted to be more than your friend, more than your big brother?” Daiki continued, he put his hands on Yuto’s shoulders and looked directly at Yuto’s eyes.
“Nakajima Yuto….” He said, to which the younger boy only nodded and stared back at the older boy’s eyes.
“Nakajima Yu..to… I… Love you..” Daiki almost choked as the words finally broke through.
“Y-you… l-love me?” Yuto stuttered, his cheeks turned a little red.
“Yes…. I love you so much… and I just… didn’t know what to do about it… but I realized something…. You’re always there for me….. and I know now that I always want to be there for you…..I know that I want to be with you…..” Daiki said, as his hands gestured nervously.
“Dai-chan……I….. I-“ Yuto wasn’t sure what to say.
“Just tell me… how you feel, if this is just… wrong then… I wont bring it up again….I promise” Daiki felt his heart sink..
“N-No! I just.. I… I love you too Daiki…..I LOVE you Arioka Daiki!” Yuto yelled out into the night air. He turned and faced the older boy, with small tears of joy welling in his eyes.
“I love you…” The pair whispered to each other, as their lips met in a passionate kiss. As they did, the fireworks began, and the very first volley fired sparks in the shapes of hearts. They gazed at the night sky as their kiss ended, their hands intertwined in each other’s. Yuto rested his head in Daiki’s neck, and there the sat as the fireworks continued.
“I’ll never let go of you Yuto…I’ll love you forever. I promise.”
“I’ll never let go of you Dai-Chan… I’ll cherish you forever. I promise.”
The pair kissed again as the finale came, and the sky erupted with sparks, lighting the two boys’ gentle kiss in a brilliant red and pink.
They were finally together. Forever
