“Yuto…?”
“Yuuuuto?”

“It’s no use Chi… he’s too busy being in his own world….” Yabu sighed as the other 8 members of JUMP sat down to lunch.

“Yuto… aren’t you going to eat?” Ryosuke asked, offering a bento box.

The taller boy merely stared at him, a forlorn look on his face, and shook his head, forcing a weak smile. It had always been the same for the last four months.

“Nope….” Ryosuke said as he sat down again.

The rest of JUMP sighed as they stared at Yuto again. Every day since Keito left for England four months ago Yuto had been sulking about the house. It seemed the entire mood of the house changed as did the weather that followed. It became rather dependable that Yuto would appear at the window just a few hours after breakfast. He’d sit with his legs drawn up, dressed in loose pants and a t-shirt that was just a little too big for him. He would always sit there his eyes staring out at the rainy days, while hugging a picture of Keito.

“I’m surprised that picture frame hasn't cracked yet with how tightly he holds that thing…” Hikaru said, frowning a bit.

“Hush. You’re being insensitive again…” Inoo said as he whacked his boyfriend with a stalk of celery setting it on his plate before taking off his apron.

“Poor Yuto… ne…he barely eats…” Chinen sighed as he put down a set of cups, each filled with a tea that smelled faintly of citrus. He smiled at Ryutaro who smiled back as he pulled his chair back a bit to make a seat for Chinen on his lap.

“You know… since you two got together… Chi-Chan hasn't been sitting on my lap anymore…” Takaki sighed, pouting.

“That’s cause he gets jealous…. And so would I….” Yabu said as he rested himself on Yuya’s head.

“Hehe Yabu-kun gets jealous easy…” Ryosuke chuckled as jokingly made a reach for Yuya’s hand, only to have it swiped away. He looked up to see who had caught his wrist, and he grinned as Daiki stood there with a pout.
“I get jealous easy too….” He said as Ryosuke gave him a wink.

“Ew….. the shorties are flirting…” Yabu teased as he sat down at Yuya kissed him.

“Ew… the oldies are kissing….” Daiki teased back, earning him a smirk and a eyeroll from both boys.

“I wonder about Yuto though… he hasn't done anything more than sit there….” Ryutaro said as he felt Chinen squirm on his lap with uneasiness.

“Yuto, we’re going to go out you want to come?” Yabu asked as he sat down in the small alcove window and wrapped a hand around Yuto’s shoulders. It felt almost like a father and son moment between the boys, but Yabu knew no matter how great his paternal instincts, Yuto’s answer would always be the same it had been for the last four months.

“Not today…” Yuto said breathlessly as he wrapped himself in a small blanket the color of light jade. Yabu sighed as he thanked Chinen for setting another cup of tea on the small table where Yuto could reach it.

“If you change your mind… just call any one of our cells okay?” Yabu said as he stood up, a look more of pity than anything else on his face.

“Any luck?” Hikaru asked as he slipped on his jacket, but from the look on his friends face, he knew the answer. He turned to look at Kei who could only stare back. Carefully, Inoo weaved through the crowding members in front of the door and sat down beside Yuto who only gave him a glance.

Without another word, Kei encircled the ball of a boy and he sighed as he felt Yuto’s body give in and relax a bit, his head dropping between himself and his legs still.

“Yuto, I know you miss him, but it’s just for a little while… don't you think… you should try to be happy? For your own sake?” Kei asked as he held the boy in his arms. Inoo tried to make eye contact but Yuto’s eyes closed to hide their loneliness. The older boy sighed again and held onto Yuto, he wanted so much to tell him that everything would be okay… that as soon as Keito gets back everything will be better. In a way… he understood what Yuto was feeling, a few months ago, he himself had gone through something like this, when Hikaru went on location shooting with Yabu and he felt so bored and alone…. Understanding all of this, and then realizing how strong their love was, Kei found it best not to say a thing at all, nothing would comfort the balled up boy, except for the one thing his heart yearned for.

Hikaru walked in as he stood next to his boyfriend and sighed, as he sat down opposite Kei, sandwiching Yuto between them.

“Yuto… c’mon… cheer up ne? It doesn't fit you to be like this…” Hikaru said awkwardly, not knowing what exactly to say.

“Thanks… Hika-Chan… Kei-Chan…” Yuto mumbled, and the two older boys looked at each other and sighed again. It was no use… Yuto wouldn’t budge.

Reluctantly JUMP left the house, each pair failing in their attempt to console the boy.

Yuto alone remained in the house, his eyes staring at the small patch in the garden where he and Keito had planted a single seed. He remembered that was the day that he was told Keito would be leaving for England with his father. It would be for a six month business trip, but during that time… he wouldn't be able to talk to Yuto.

“Why… why do you have to go?” Yuto asked as he helped set the dirt in a small mound.
“I have to go with my father… but … you know it’s only for six months…. Its only… six months…” Keito repeated.
“Six months!”
“Yuto… this flower… it only blooms twice a year… and I promise you, when this one that we’re planting now blooms… I’ll be back… and we can look at it together.”
“Keito.. please…”
“Just until this flower blooms… just a little bit… I promise you… I’ll be back soon..”

Yuto remembered how devastated he had been, in one sentence, he was informed that all he had grown accustomed to, all that he had depended on, would leave him without a trace. For those next few months, that devastation would be the only thing to keep him company as it grew and withered into loneliness. Somehow, life wasn't as interesting without Keito around…

“Keito….” Yuto whimpered as he hugged the picture tightly and sighed. Leaning against the glass, he focused his eyes on the small plot, the flower bud taunted him, almost opening, but never quite there.

Staring at the plot, Yuto fell asleep.

Hours later, Yuto awoke to the sound of the front door closing. He turned to see the edge of a jacket he found a bit too familiar disappearing behind the wall and the steps he remembered all too well jumping up the stairs.

Getting up now, Yuto set the picture frame on the table next to a cup of cold tea, and walked to the stairs. He looked up at the lone room next to his, pressed into the corner of the house, and his heart skipped a beat as he realized the light was on now. He dashed up to the doorway and gasped as his eyes began to tear up.

A single boy stood in the room, his back to him, and his hand just now dropping two large bags onto the carpet. He had a single black wristband around his left wrist, which he dispatched to help a sore crick in his neck. He heard sniffling and turned around to find his boyfriend standing in the doorway, staring at him with tears in his eyes.

“Yuto? Are you okay!? What’s wrong? What happened?” Keito ran over to his side as Yuto began to shake his head, the words wouldn't come out.

“What happened? Is everyone okay?” Keito asked trying to stay calm but bracing himself for the worst.

“Keito… Keito….” Yuto sobbed as he collapsed into the firm arms that he had longed for. In that instant when the thin boy’s hands clasped tightly on the fabric of Keito’s sleeve, the older boy understood and sighed as he quietly held Yuto in his arms.

With small steps, Keito moved them over to his bed and gently sat down, draping the blankets over his and Yuto’s legs.

“I missed you too Yuto…” He cooed as Yuto held on with his entire body.

“I thought about you… every night… when I went to sleep… when I woke up….. all my friends in England they want to meet you!” Keito said happily, not noticing how quiet Yuto had gotten.

“Yuto? Are you going to say anything? Yuto?” Keito asked as he carefully looked down at the boy in his arms.

“I… missed you…..” Yuto said quietly, as he pressed his ear against Keito’s chest to hear the soft heartbeat that seemed to speak his name. Feeling those strong arms encircling him again, Yuto felt comfort, warmth, and love.

“When I got back into town, I checked my messages…. It seems the members are all leaving me the same message, saying that you’re sad without me… that you wont eat….. that you wont sleep…Is this all true Yuto?” Keito asked concerned, lifting Yuto into a sitting position.

“Yuto…. You can’t be like this…. you’re body wouldn’t be able to take it…. You have to take care of yourself…. Don’t you understand? I just…. I want you to be here, I wanted you to be fine and happy when I came back.” Keito asked, making sure to lift Yuto’s head up so he could stare into those brown eyes he had fallen in love with.

Now those eyes returned his gaze, red with tears and closed again as Yuto nodded and held on tightly to his boyfriend.

The night was spent quietly as the two boys laid down on the bed, they stared at the ceiling, the streaks of light from the lamp outside the house struck the blinds of the window and sent shadows that twisted into complex patterns.

“Yuto… I love you….”

Keito smiled as he heard a small sniffle he presumed to mean the same thing. He felt Yuto’s hand climb up to his side and he hugged the sniffling boy tighter still. It had been so long since he had this feeling. He loved being Yuto’s protector, he loved feeling Yuto’s warmth around him as he hugged him. Most of all, he loved just knowing Yuto needed him, and in this moment, he felt all of that and more. In the last four months he had slept alone in a small bed stuck in a room that was too big for the furniture contained within. He found the mornings cold without someone there beside him, and since they had begun dating, he and Yuto had never shared a night apart. Truth be told, the last four months were torture for him, there wasn't a moment he didn't think of Yuto, what he was doing, what antics he and Hikaru were undoubtedly getting into, and even if Yuto was thinking of him.

Now, he knew all his dreams of Yuto were just that, and that his faithful prince had been waiting for him.

“Yuto?” Keito asked as he snapped out of his thoughts and noticed how quiet the room was. The soft rise and fall of Yuto’s breath was the only sound in the room, and he smiled now as he understood the younger boy had fallen asleep. Gently, Keito twisted around the bed, making sure not to wake him, and pulled the blanket over them. He saw the look of his angel finally getting the peaceful night’s sleep he had been starved of for these last months, and he apologized softly, wrapping his arms around Yuto, his own way of promising he would never be apart from him again.

And just like that the two boys fell asleep, each contently warm in each other’s arms, and each with a small smile, for they now shared a dream that was all their own…

-----

Somewhere in the garden, the single blossom opened its delicate small white crimson petals and smiled with them as the moon shimmered with its pearl white light….
