Flash floods are so very frightening. I remember when taking Water Safety courses that a gallon of water weighs about 8-10 pounds. So, ya know, raging flood waters=danger, no matter how skilled you are in the water. Anything that can grind up bridges, move trains and buildings, etc, can sweep itsy bitsy people away instantly.
Stay safe. I am thinking about your whole country.
We've not had flash floods, but we've had flooding, and also hurricanes. It is so scary to watch the place you know disappear in the water/wind, and not know what's standing and what's not.
and then will come the mold, and all those cars and houses will be uninhabitable even when dried out...
I am thankful I live on a hill every time the area rivers (and there are a lot of them) are in flood. It's a pain when out bike riding knowing that whichever way you head out you will be coming home uphill, but during flood season I forgive every one of those inclines.
Stay safe, be well. Thank you for posting thoughts and updates.
