So, in the back of my mind I know I've seen a double applied i-cord bind off kind of thing, where the two strands are twisted around each other. I think what you do is three rows of cord A connecting to the piece, three rows unconnected cord B, switch positions, 3 rows connected B 3 rows unconnected A, switch, etc. But I can't remember where I saw ( Read more... )

I'm sure I saw this edging in a photo recently - not sure about a pattern/directions. I can't for the life of me think *where* though - knitting, perhaps?

I know this was recently but I didn't find it in a quick look. I remember that the person who posted it - a shawl or something maybe? - said that she'd had to fudge it a bit because she inadvertently had too few stitches, so there was a funny jog - I, of course, didn't notice.

Not in On, and I don't have Over. Did I by chance leave an EZ book or two at your place?

Not sure, though that does sound cool. I might try it on the next set of felted slippers I make.

There's a similar twisted thing in Sweaters From Camp, only there it's a cast on. If I recall, you cast on, knit a few rows, then on the next row twist the entire thing every 10 or so stitches.

Nicki Epstein's Knitted Embellishments has a bunch of I-cord edgings, including several twisted ones, but they all seem to be applied after-the-fact, either by picking up stitches or sewing them on.

Hm, I don't have that one, either. But one with picked-up stitches would definitely work the same way as a bind-off variety.
