Our power went down around 9:45 pm on Thursday. It doesn't look like it's going to be up any time really soon, as there are two major lines down within a few blocks of our house. My mom doesn't have power yet either. It's 45F in our house, and I am pretty much out of cope

I don't suppose "Hey, let's go to a motel" would work any better, would it? Assuming the motels in your area aren't already booked solid with other power loss refugees.

I wish I could send you some warmth from here...I hope the kerosene heater option (or something like it) works out.

They picked up the heater okay - hopefully now they can just get some kerosene. (I know where to get some usually, but I'm worried that it might be sold out.)
