Pip picked up a habit of spitting right before the end of the school year. I suspect he saw other kids doing it at the amusement park and was curious. We hoped if we didn't make a big deal out of it that he would stop. Well, no, now he does it all the time. He spits into his hand and sucks it back up. He takes a big swig and then spits it back into his drink. If his drink has a lid on it, he spits it down his front, or onto the floor. Wm is of course a little sponge who wants to be just like big brother, so I just caught him with red juice all down his onesie and a little puddle on the floor.
The kids are bored and want to play outside. They can't really play in the yard here because it isn't fenced. It isn't fenced because... well, I don't know why it isn't fenced. We had a nice walk and trip to the park this morning, but they still just like to go outside. They'll spend most of the day in the yard at mom's, even just hanging out. I don't know why the same activity is boring inside the house and fun outside the house, but there you are.
Wm has the most horrid shriek. He will do it randomly in the car and we don't know why, and then Pip starts wailing. We had brunch with
kathrynt today and both kids just went back and forth sobbing. It was supposed to be a fun outing. Yeah, not so much.
Sydney's been coming by once a week while mom takes Wm for the day and we've been working on getting the house organized and into better shape. We had all the toys sorted out and in bins. I try to clean it back up again when they go to bed but the strewing chaos is so much that right now you can hardly tell we spent two days on this room. It's very discouraging.
My 2-year-old knows the phrase "shut up," which makes me feel like the worst mom ever.
