tldr for non-knitters

Some years ago I bought Jacqueline Fee's Sweater Workshop to add to my "designing sweaters" library. I hadn't really gotten around to reading it, but I'm under the weather today and the knitting bookshelf is right by the sofa where I've been resting. haha.

but I thought the whole (heh) point of button holes was so that you get to use fantastic buttons? I love cardigans. way more versatile for me, but I suppose that makes me a dodgy indecisive type.

That's some cuckoobananas, right there, especially considering that I find pullovers to be considerably easier to knit--what would be the point of knitting damned button bands if I didn't want to have buttoning in the first place?

No wonder that, nine times out of ten, the sweater that stands out in a crowd is a pullover.

um wha? she must have had a traumatic cardigan wearing experience. Perhaps one with ickle wickle cutesy buttons.

and as a complete aside, I once bought a button up, knit, shirt that refused to stay closed (buttons smaller than the holes) and I just sewed the thing together b'c I liked the shirt. I would never KNIT something like that.
