...and I want to take many more classes than would be humanly possible.

The list is here. I'm going to put in for the lottery for Nancy Bush's Estonian lace class, because of course I am. But if I don't get into it, I will try for Judith MacKenzie McCuin's silk class, which is sadly at the same time (I would love to take both. Also, that's ( Read more... )

i literally cannot calm my brain down enough to decide.

I want to take Judith's plying class. I want to take the latvian mitten class. I want to take Judith's big yarns class, because even though I don't think I work with big yarns, I bet I'd learn a ton. The silk class, of course, of COURSE. I just don't know!

Oh wow. All of that looks like too much fun. One day I'm going to get the gumption to attend one the retreats here in San Fran. I can't wait to hear all about it when you come back!

I've been a few times for the shopping, but last year was the first time I actually signed up for some classes. Definitely worth it. As huaman said, "if Judith were teaching a class on how to boil water, I'd take it. And I'd learn something." The class was last February, but I still catch myself saying "Judith says..."

This effect does not lessen greatly with more exposure to Judith, either. I have had a fair bit of time to talk with her about textiles and stuff over the past year or so, and it's really how she is. I'd literally take the SAME class from her multiple times.

I put in for the lottery for the Estonian Lace class, but I'm starting to wonder if I should say "never mind, I really want to take the silk class instead." And as Kathryn said above... I don't really covet big yarns, but damn I bet I'd learn a lot in that class.

Ohhhh, shiny.

A. is leaving his job in about a week to start a company and I'm trying to change jobs, so this is neither the most settled nor the most flush-with-money time to make plans for hobby conferences. It's so shiny, though, and I don't spend enough time in fiber-geekery.

Have you gone before? Is it worth it?

...but yet strangely relevant.

Ford noticed the following cartoon and mentioned it on Dhalgren with the comment that we needed to make sure you saw it.

Hey, you could come to Dhalgren sometime, you know. We're lonely.
