The first time I'm actually planning on going to SOAR, and registration opens at exactly the time I am going to pick up my mom to take her in for minor hand surgery. They've never done all-online registration before, so nobody even knows how quickly things are going to fill up. I don't know if I should be anxiously trying to find a wireless network

Where's the hospital? If it's Overlake, you might be able to get on the downtown Bellevue wireless...

Yes and no -- Kathryn and I were signing up at the same time and she got the last spot in the big workshop we wanted to take together, so I'm on the wait list for it. I got all the retreat sessions I wanted, though. I am crossing my fingers that someone will drop out of the class -- or failing that, that Abby can be persuaded to take one more because she wuvs meeeeee.

Mom was having very minor hand surgery (releasing tendons in a couple of fingers, she's had this done twice before on others) and she's come through just fine.

*knocks on wood for you!* I'm on the wait list for a workshop class too, still haven't heard anything. :/ I'm glad to hear about the retreat sessions, though. (And about your mother, that it's so minor!)
