This fic was written as a Yuletide pinch hit for recipient sailorhathor as part of the 2015 Yuletide challenge. Normally I jump at the chance to do a pinch hit, but I was more jumping for joy this time at the chance to write for someone who is not only a friend, but the main person keeping our little fandom alive as host of the Miracles site, Cross to Bear.

The request was for Miracles, Paul Callan, and while there was tons of prompts to choose from one aspect stood out for some reason amongst her normal plea for Miracles/Supernatural Paul/Dean. "I would also love to see Castiel get involved. What kind of interaction would a guy like Paul and an angel have? .... I would love to see Paul interact with Castiel..." What came out of that was a need to have an angel contact Paul. I figured some sort of religious object that held an unknown power would fit in well with both the Miracles and SPN universes.

I confess this fic is more like my previous Miracles Yuletide fic, God is Now Here, than I'd like. That one was an official Supernatural
